GW keeps shutting down
I've read other posts but unlike them my computer isn't shutting down and restarting. Instead it shuts down without any warning whatsoever. My computer meets all of the recommended stats so I'm not sure what's going on. I was checking around and while running the game my cpu usage is at 100%. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong. I don't even get an error message.

hey Flawed77, if your cpu usage is at 100% that means is out of memory...trying closing some programs like msn,aim or whatever you don't need

LoL i guess the dude was confused...but if it says CPU Usage is at 100% that means your comp is using ALL its resources and working its hardest to keep up...prolly why it keeps shutting down

100% CPU means nothing, i still do things outside of GW and mine is at 100%.
Sounds more like a lack of memory.

mine runs at 100% the instant it hits the login screen and does not go below that until i quit
i have NEVER had a crash or shutdown so far even after several hours of play
and this is a lowly 2100+ helped by a 6600GT and 3/4 gig of pc2700 memory
as far as i know everybody runs at or close to 100 percent
something else is wrong

Need more information.
Does it crash immediately? Or only after a few minutes? Do you meet system requirements?
Do other games play fine?

Check out some of the suggestions there. I'm guessing there's not too much of a difference between problems of the game rebooting the system and just shutting down. There's a few more good suggestions thrown around in the rest of that thread too.

Or you can try this suggestion I got from Support:
Try this: go to Start>Run>type msconfig and click OK. Click on Selective Startup, uncheck Load Startup Items, then go to the Services tab. Click Hide All Microsoft Services then uncheck all the ones you see. Click OK and restart. This will help ensure that no other applications are interfering with the game.
After I did that, I was able to stay in the game long enough for the temperature building up around my video card to be a problem. Make sure yours isn't crowded by other cards and that there's enough air circulating. Otherwise the game drops to a black screen and the computer freezes (if you're like me). Good luck with it!

Keep an up-to-date look at the index thread I have created. As solutions are posted that work, I'll be posting them in the thread for people to read.
